Zalul publishes Israel’s water pollution hot spots of 2008

Zalul has released it's 2008 Water Pollution Hot Spots Map that highlights the most dangerous government-permitted pollution spilled directly into the Mediterranean Sea as well as Israel’s coastal rivers.  Check it out for yourself: http://www.zalul.org.il/en/zmap/default.htm.

The good news is that both Nahariya and Herzliya, who once were on Zalul’s blacklist, are now much cleaner and safer thanks to Zalul’s push to install high quality waste treatment facilities.  Read more about the map in this article from The Jerusalem Post.

As is Zalul’s method, we will continue to focus on one hot spot at a time - demanding that companies, factories, and municipalities clean up their waste before dumping it into our precious water resources.

As we move ahead, we need your help more than ever.  Help us get the word out about water pollution in Israel!

Invite your friends to join our group on Facebook, sign-up for our newsletter on our website, and, if you can, DONATE to help us protect Israel’s most important natural resource – water.
