The Ministry of Health will inform the public about the pollution of the sea in the winter months As a result of Zalul's Sea Report: The Ministry of Health will inform the public about the pollution of the sea in the wintemonths As a result of the Sea Report that Zalul published 6 months ago, the organization was invited to participate in an inter-ministerial committee which will update the current standards for the quality of sea water in declared beaches.
In the framework of the committee, Zalul demanded that the public be continuously informed about the conditions of the sea water and that the online map with the pollution statistics that is available throughout the summer months, be available in the winter as well. The Ministry of Health agreed to Zalul's request and as of the 2nd of November 2006, the map is available online in the winter. The map will continue to be updated throughout the winter. Zalul Association praises the Ministry of Health's efforts and initiative to take upon themselves publicizing the conditions of the sea – something that falls under the responsibility of the Ministry of Interior and the municipalities. This is particularly important since the winter storms bring along with them massive amounts of pollution. Zalul also plans on continuing the efforts to supply the public with information regarding undeclared beaches as well.
